The rate calculation method (RCM) is the method that the system uses to calculate prices. You have three choices of RCM:
Range Based - This is the most common RCM. With this option, you are able to specify different rates in different date ranges. For example, in December, you may want prices to be higher than in April. You would therefore add a new rate in the form 01/12/2004 to 31/12/2004 with a higher rate.
Range Loop Based - Exactly the same as the Range Based RCM, but the only difference is that the system ignores the year, so the same rate will be used for certain date periods each year. Therefore by adding a rate in the form 01/12/2000 to 31/12/2000, this rate would be valid for each year.
Fixed Rate - This means that the system will use the same rate every day of the year. So a booking for 12 nights in December would be exactly the same price as a booking for 12 nights in April.
Please note, when you change your RCM for a certain object, all rates associated with the object will be automatically deleted. Most of the time this is suitable anyway, because your old rates will be in the wrong format. However, if you do need to keep your existing rates, please contact us using our contact form before you change your RCM and we will prevent your rates being deleted.
